Rockland Recovery is a drug and alcohol free transitional living facility that accommodates single men, single women and families. Living facilities include individual rooms and dorms for single men and women. For families, home is one large room when they first come to Rockland Recovery. Loisann Silver Chacon was blessed with an extraordinary ability to connect with people. This gift served her well throughout her too-brief life, not only in her relationships with family and friends, but also in her career as a social worker. Over the years , she worked with mentally ill patients, young people who were homeless, abused children, and people trying to find their way.

She develops and manages relationships with social service providers to support Rockland Recovery Review guests. Melaney is from Picayune, MS, and has lived in New Orleans since she attended Xavier University in Louisiana. Melaney was incarcerated in 2014 and dedicated her time inside to helping the ladies she met. While there, she saw that many women who were recently released, but had nowhere to go, would often end up back in prison. Melaney vowed to focus on reentry services for the people she left behind.

Our vision is to transform the lives of teen moms and their children. Up to 40 women and children are welcomed as guests each night in our clean, safe shelter.
